Can I reuse an old password when resetting it? (Email/Password Authentication Only)

No. For your security, MyLOFT blocks reuse of your last three passwords. Please set a brand-new, strong password each time you reset it.

Why we do this: Preventing recent-password reuse protects your account from common credential-stuffing and guesswork attacks.

How to reset your password

  1. Open the MyLOFT sign-in page and enter your registered email.
  2. Click Forgot password.
  3. Check your email for the reset link and follow the prompts to set a new password (not one of your last three).

Tips for a strong password

  • Use a unique passphrase you don’t use anywhere else.
  • Mix letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid personal info (names, birthdays, institute names).

Notes

  • This policy applies to Email/Password authentication. If you sign in with Google or your organization’s SSO, manage your password with that provider.
  • Didn’t get the reset email? Check spam/junk and ensure you’re using your registered email. If it’s still missing, contact your library/institute admin.
