Why is a VPN required to access content via Mobile Application?
Why MyLOFT requires VPN
The VPN is required to provide seamless access to your institution’s subscribed eResources. It securely routes only the traffic for those subscribed eResources domains through MyLOFT servers that are specifically assigned to your institution.
Privacy and scope
MyLOFT does not monitor all app traffic. The VPN configuration only proxies requests to institutional eResource domains; other app and device traffic is not routed through the VPN.
How to view which domains go through the VPN
- Open the MyLOFT app and tap Settings (gear icon).
- Tap Help Center.
- Tap About VPN Usage.
- Review the list of domains displayed — these are the institutional eResource domains that will be routed through the VPN.
Note: The MyLOFT VPN configuration is active only when using the MyLOFT app, and it will only proxy institutional subscribed eResource domains via the app. MyLOFT VPN is only applicable to iOS App, on Android App no VPN configuration is required
