Does the App ask for any Access Permissions while installed on Mobile Devices?

Required permissions

  1. Add VPN

    The app requests permission to add a VPN to provide seamless access to institutional subscribed eResources. The VPN is used only to route traffic for subscribed eResources domains securely through MyLOFT proxy servers, which have dedicated IP addresses for each institution. The app does not monitor all app traffic. MyLOFT VPN is only applicable to iOS App, on Android App no VPN configuration is required

  2. Microphone access & Speech recognition

    The app offers a voice-search feature. Granting microphone access and speech-recognition permission enables search by voice commands.

  3. Storage access (Android only)

    On Android, the app requests storage permission so users can open certain document formats outside the app, such as XLS, DOC, PPT, and ACSM files.

These permissions are required to enable core features and to ensure secure, reliable access to subscribed resources.
