How to access a journal article?

Mobile App

  1. Open eResources: Tap the eResources icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Open the eResources menu: Tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) next to the eResources area, then choose All Journals from the list.
  3. Choose a journal: Select a journal from the displayed list.
  4. Open an article: The journal will open in the in-app browser on the publisher’s site. Select the article you want. If an alert appears, tap the I Know button to continue.
  5. Download a PDF: If the publisher provides a PDF download, open the article on the publisher’s site and use their download option. After the download completes, a confirmation message such as PDF Downloaded Successfully will appear.
  6. Save article as HTML: To save the abstract and article details, use the Save this Article in Collection tip or tap the Save / Download option located at the bottom-right of the in-app viewer.

Web App

  1. Open eResources: Click eResources in the Web App sidebar to expand the list, then select All Journals.
  2. Choose a journal: Select a journal from the list.
  3. Open the publisher site: The selected journal will open on the publisher’s website.
  4. Open an article: Choose the article you want from the publisher’s article list.
  5. Save as HTML: Use the MyLOFT browser extension icon in your browser to save the article details (abstract and metadata) as HTML.
  6. Download PDF: If a PDF is available on the publisher’s site, open the PDF and use the site’s Save/Download control to save it to your device.

Note: The ability to download PDFs and the location of download controls vary by publisher.
