The MyLOFT browser extension is designed strictly to facilitate secure access to institution-subscribed academic resources.
It does not collect, store, or transmit personal or private user information such as passwords, personal browsing history (e.g., shopping, video streaming, or social media websites), personal files, or data from unrelated websites.
The extension only scans URLs within the active browsing session to determine whether a webpage is a library-supported academic resource. This process is performed solely to enable seamless authentication and institutional access.
Any content that is explicitly saved by the user (such as research articles) is securely stored within the MyLOFT ecosystem to support offline access and synchronization across devices. Administrators do not have visibility into users’ private or non-research browsing activity.
There have been no security breaches associated with the MyLOFT browser extension. The system operates under standard authentication and security protocols aligned with institutional access requirements.
User privacy, data protection, and secure access remain core priorities in the design and operation of MyLOFT.
