How to use an area of interest in a personal document as a quotation/citation?

Mobile App

  1. Open a saved HTML or PDF article in the app.
  2. Select and drag over the portion of text you want to copy.
  3. When the selection options appear, tap the Copy option to copy the selected text to the clipboard.
  4. Open the document where you want to paste the text and paste it.
  5. You can also copy already highlighted text by tapping the Copy button that appears on the highlight. See the product documentation for additional instructions on sharing highlighted text.

Web App

  1. Open a saved HTML article that contains highlighted text.
  2. Open the Highlights panel (the list of all highlighted texts for the article).
  3. On each highlighted text card, click the Copy icon in the top-right corner of the card to copy the entire highlighted text to the clipboard.
  4. Paste the copied text into your desired document.
  5. To copy text that is not highlighted, select and drag over the desired portion in the HTML article and press Ctrl + C (or Cmd + C on macOS) to copy, then paste it into your document.
